WISDOM OF SKEPTICS: (Abstract)

Inner Group Think and Scrutiny
(Etic perspectives and observations in 21st century western society)

ABSTRACT (CRITICAL PERSPECTIVES)

“Scrutiny from a literary approach seems to deal with idealism, While Scrutiny from a social psychological context deals with disillusionment.”

How can postmodern 21st century western society create constructs that prevent scrutiny and skepticism of human beings and human society based on historical folklore and social psychology?

What may inevitably prove to be one of the finest test to the human spirit is reflected in the western postmodern, 21st century and its current state of economies and social systems. As the western world seeks to globalize its culture, marketplace and consumer acolytes, are there any positive constructs regarding encountered culture, society or people in place to avoid the mistakes of the past 500 years?

Decreased accountability regarding morality as compared to 50 or 100 years ago is arguably becoming an impoverished attribute of mankind on several phenomenal levels. The conscious or subconscious manifestations may be found to be delusional and immoral convictions with a self affirming in group think process that perpetualy grows through individual prejudice and desire.

The reasoning behind the complex nature of this issue is from several aspects including chiefly financial want or need and the imposition of debilitation, poverty, homelessness and starvation. Projecting a world culture of perpetual selfishness as based on several principles or perceptions or a false sense of being. The over emphasis by western mass media, culture and society on the importance of the self without balance creates a sense of non-importance or insignificance towards ‘Others’, as opposed to that particular ‘self’. These subconscious manifestations may also be the full grown monster, prompts or constructs unleashed by corporate marketing initiatives as exposed and exploited by freud and family, including his daughter and nephew Edward Bernays.

UNASSUMING AGENCY (Essay)

Introduction

Anomie addresses the disillusions of a model (society), while Alienation addresses the false sense of self or consciousness interacting in such a critical or scrutinizing model (society).

Possible, assimilation by scrutiny of Durkheim and Marx, is not a new social phenomena nor is it separate from the underlining topic of each theorist. Dissociation, produced by ‘Social Facts’ (Durkheim) can be associated to the model (society) which creates its own morals, objectives and systems in order to acquire goods, capital and whatever else is determined important.

This Relates to the 'Acquisitive' societies constraint on any individual by the mere nature of its demands whether material wealth, empire building or status seeking. This stimuli itself becomes the leading ‘social ‘ fact or agenda of not only those whom control but participate in the model (society). As effect, the creation of a social norm and or method of assimilation which results in Durkheim's ‘Anomie’, Marx’s ‘Alienation’ and ‘False Consciousness’. These features specifically applies to those whom are not privileged or able to adjust to the constructs of the model (society).

Undoubtedly this state of dissociation does not always present itself with equal distinctiveness. It is sufficient for dissociation to exist unquestionably in the numerous important instances cited, for us to prove that the social fact exists separately from its individual effects.

Did Durkheim and Marx merely build a better mouse trap?  As much as I like to think that Schroedinger's cat can be solved by ‘Cat’ consciousness in regards to the cat assessing the scenario and not entering the box at all. Lets look at such social systems or bodies as constructs, much like the box in Schroedinger’s cat. So, resolutions for social ills by way of constructs, such as Imperialism, Industrialism and Total Institutions viewed in the 20th century, may have usurped both theorist best efforts, by the mechanism of Perpetual Growth. Or simply does every human constructed system fade away?

Assimilation

"Social order depends on the moral activity of the members of society, but that moral individual activity depends on the integration and socialization into a well ordered society" (A&O).

Capitalism and its root Industrialism is or was not in and of themselves bad models. Though it may be argued that Anti Capitalist agendas and or opportunistic character traits override its principles. This can be individual (archetypes), systemic or political by construct and enforced by the models function. This model or sum is what Durkheim may have been eluding to as the agent or catalyst for change in the human whom becomes disillusioned. Within the strata (Marxian ‘Class’) of the model, social constructs and laws are erected to enforce the models function. Under such compulsory incubation periods and measures, the human is forced to conform (objectified) and goes through an adjustment period which may also relate to Durkheim's ‘Anomie’. Resulting in a state of confusion and or disillusionment or successful solidarity.

If the division of labour does not produce solidarity in all these cases, it is because the relations of the organs are not regulated, because they are in a state of anomy. For the individual this means there are not sufficient moral constraints and individuals do not have a clear concept of what is proper and acceptable. (Ritzer)

As a result of disillusionment the modern formation of the ‘Total Institution’ is arguably born. This includes socialization and enculturation which as an effect maintains and in some cases preserves the models strata or function. A notion of Alienation is apparent, as addressed by Marx.

This fact expresses merely that the object which labour produces--labour's product--confronts it as something alien, as a power independent of the producer. The product of labour is labour which has been congealed in an object, which has become material: it is the objectification of labour. Labour’s realization is its objectification. In the conditions dealt with by political economy this realization of labour appears as loss of reality for the workers; objectification as loss of the object and object-bondage; appropriation as estrangement, as alienation. (KM, “Alienation"--Entausserung.)

The human becomes apart of the model or assimilated. The value or sum of the model lies now in the archetypes of individuals whom erected it and then reflects new social standards which become indicative of that society or society as a whole. These constructs over time become archetypes and group archetypes become smaller models. Resembling the logical fallacy of bandwagonism, Constructs of this nature are subconscious manifestations that become in-group thinking or social norms and no longer can be traced to the sole action of an individual. And as an affect, now comprises a society (Preserved through deception, cover up, or lies, to conceal true origins).

Application : Addressing The total Institution

Socialization

This unassuming agency of influence and theory or observations of Durkheim and Marx may have helped tool a strata based in-group model, presently in a western modern culture. The majority rule or ‘In-group’ thought prevailed over the “”disgruntled”” manifestations of those whom did not benefit from the society (marxian - proletariates). And now conformity is at an all time high.

“…In all societies the social regulation of labor is the foundation and basis of the organization of human experience" (A&O).

In a total institution fashion, Durkheim provided accommodations for the society in model and for this, it seems that non-conformist are scrutinized. Resulting in several society based ills and other confining solutions to deal with them in a very coercive manner.

Academy now enforces the distinction as an socialization institution within the model society to preserve norms. In-group thought, life and other enculturation agents. Hence, the term ‘Unassuming’ agency for opportunistic models that exploit ‘others’. (d' St. Michael)

A total institution may be defined as a place of residence and work where a large number of like-situated individuals, cut off from the wider society for an appreciable period of time, together lead an enclosed, formally administered round of life. (p. xiii) (Goffman)

With a overt controlling influence, what is now the total institution manages to exert its rule or constructed spirit over participants whom are arbitrarily reduced to numbers on the basis of non-conformity to social standards whether economic, character or behavior based. Marx addressed this issue as the commodification of human labour, goods and services. As commodification is, to treat humans or any object (something that cannot be owned or that everyone has a right to) like a product that can be bought and sold.

Update since Winter 2014:

Labour is replaced by the word 'Skilled' due to the enormous use of computers and machinery, able to produce at higher rates and with more efficiency. In addition there has been a redundant call to return to 'Labour' by status quo which may confirm the total institutions addiction to control over product, profit or assets. Hence, control is the new commodity.

Literary » Poverty

Model poverty or poverty models of opportunist? - the morality curve, towards eradicating poverty-

Capitulation indeed, all people with cash in their hand are welcomed to voluntarily relieve themselves of it. (A, Self Served System)

Growth at the cost of morality

Consumption of goods and services are based on the ancient supply and demand model of the hunter and gatherer. It is a simple technique involving storing or hoarding supplies needed in the off months or simple surplus. For example, the need to control a water supply increases the value of land, product from the land and supply to market.

The most important factor to this modern phenomena of starvation in times of adequate means and supply is the 'Cultural Construct' of control imposed upon ‘Other’ by western society and the inalienable status or assumption of (we own the land, product and supply). This idea originated in European society as the rich or affluent consumed products in which the poor or working classes desired. This 'Taste' or pursuit stems from an over indulgence and general luxury.

"But through the seventeenth century, even with its diverse uses, it (sugar) was an expensive luxury item reserved for the upper classes." (Robbins)

The Columbian Economic model that exist today takes advantage of the ‘Luxury’ premise by exploiting, stimulating and prompting taste to match purchasing habits.

Yet, regarding the sacred necessities of life, food, water and shelter, under the Columbian Model, we have a short term gain proposition based on yet another Win/lose scenario. The Colon Archetype* or Columbian model operates on a Maximum output for minimum input result based transaction and this has been the opportunist's way for centuries. So, the individual whom can not pay for the ‘Taste’ will utterly starve (May God Help Us All).

Cristobal Colon or Christopher Columbus and his deal making / governance style is now a archetype of a Capitalizing character or opportunist whom makes it policy to never compromise with non majority or shareholders. Every scenario is a Win/lose based transaction to them and simply put, Its not their problem people are starving.

The model does not allow nor make concession for true sentiment nor true charity (not just a write off), because it undermines the Capitalizers or opportunists bottom line principle. As the key principle of an opportunist is to take advantage of someone’s need and exploit degradation to its fullest. Most win lose scenarios dominate negotiations regarding non-shareholders (employees, citizens, consumers, customers, non-family members), whom are not considered majority. This is the culture of capitalization or of the opportunist, someone must lose if he or she is to win.

Shareholding solutions

My suggestion is to deal mutually and consider each country or employee as a shareholder. Employees must become stock holders and contracts must be placed under security. Much as the natural resources of any rain forest or endangered species human transactions must become secure or sacred from hunting or gathering.  In effect not allowing exploitation to occur of humans by humans. The culture of exploitation must be prompted out of human culture in a positive manner and mediated for a Win/Win scenario between all people. This includes changing the nature of negotiations and strategies to a long term Win/Win proposition for goods and services amongst mutual parties. As all humans now must become mutual.

Inevitably the consumer will become the focus as all humans are consumers. The producer model currently based on the Colon archetype and Columbian economic model is an unattainable wishful thought or unsustainable model for long term growth. It must be curbed in order to create true capital gains and market competition. This must be done with mutual respect and mediation.

As an advocate of the conscious human being and consumer culture, I believe it  will in affect curb the necessity to consume at high rates. For the producer to create high end goods that satisfy the consumer for years to come (The use of machinery & computers keeps the cost, loss or overhead low).

Inevitably this increases the life expectancy of goods and services. Extending the shelf life of quality goods (Win/Win). Planned obsolescence must become a way of the past and enlightened consumers must force true market competition from the producer.

The Plausibility Of Ecological Singularity

Are Social Based Systems Capable Of Repairing Current Ecological and Climate Based Crisis?

No, Social Based Systems Alone Are Not Capable, In A Market Economy, To Overcome The Ecological Crisis On A Global Scale Currently.

In effect, such social systems will only perpetuate or allow the transformation of such ideals to new domains. A Systemic cloning of 'Commodities' or the need to make a profit by such constructs as entitlements runs counter to society based institutions (absorption).

The given notion alone is a phenomenal and somewhat over-reaching aspect to a very in depth psychological, historical, economic and global Issue of conformity. Confronting such objectives may provoke strong opinions to the subject at hand, yet we can not ignore the damage that has been done by the history of heavy industrialism, As well, international 'Dominion' based trade and treaties, which in effect has thrown the balance of production and distribution off  for the past 500 years (colonialism and empire building).

We begin examining current human based and profit motive ecological crises as a  'Social' phenomena based on a systemic model thats being recycled by constructed human social institutions. These internal man made systems must be examined based on 2 periods. The first, 500 years (1450 to 1950)  and additionally, a period of 70 years from 1950 to 2020, well into the 21st century.

In this, Nature as an entity, can not be compared to 'Social' institutions due to such societies and their inability to do little more then perpetuate bias, waste and environmental conditions in the pursuit of capital, which now threatens to destroy the whole planet. In respect, Nature must be looked at as an autonomous self-determined system.

A psychological understanding of 'Human Habits', methods and the pursuit of capital are to be examined as strong bonds to break. Entitlement must be questioned and examined closely and critically by academic and literary aspects, as well as media based scrutiny.

The prime motive for such critic is based on the in-ability for 'Social' constructs or human institutions of the past, including ’Environmentalism' or ‘conservative’ measures to provide enough comprehensive results or convincing proof of repair regarding the crisis thus far.  This relates to any human construct or proliferation of waste, 'Capitalism' and or ‘Socialism’s’.  In fact, any ISM's inability to cure social ills such as poverty, hunger or even the current economic or environmental crisis that confronts our enviornment.

The plan is to implement measures around consumer and products that reverse the current critical states. 'Consumerism' and acquisition based societies must be studied in its modern form based on several findings and marketing schemes in the 20th century.  8 generations will be examined for marketing trends and the increase in goods and services revolving around such trends. From 1948 to now, a special group in America will be emphasized, So-Called ‘Teenagers’ from 13 - 19. This group will be examined as a marketing innovation purely for consumption of goods and services. With a thrust in the late 80-00's by the now grown 'Baby Boomers'. Known in and around America for their extravagant tastes, insatiable want and big ticket purchases for two of everything (That too).

In depth analysis of current market systems, commercialism and several ‘Modern’ economies based on 'Voluntary Consumerism' and 'Planned Obsolescence’, with an objective of natural system repair over constructed or modified systems, initiates the research. The influence of social systems must be avoided in order not to taint the data., owed to steering committees, pr  firms, special interest groups and the like.  From the traditional ranks of conservationism to radical approaches of disrupt. A new paradigm must be utilized against the backdrop of the failings of old.

A technological, non-biological aspect must be examined as a commodity based system. Hence, commodifiaction of the internet from 1998 to around 2008.  Examining its early growth as an autonomous ‘Society of sorts’ that laid the foundation for the current categories of 'Cyber' or synthetic markets online.

Lastly, as a solution based model we examine quality over quantity in respect to products longevity once at home. Entailing an in depth analysis of 'Planned' obsolescence', challenging  the corporate environments commitment for sustainability.

It is my initial thought  that Consumerism must be examined from the product level. Disposable goods create more waste. Quality goods, limit the frequency to market and the need for new items, like tires every 3 years.

A proposed shift for sustainable goods over long periods seems to be the best way to interact in the market immediately. Simplt get rid of the junk! Quality in equals quality out.

The Columbus trope (Abstract)

The Cristol Colon archetype shared amongst European society since the early 1500s.

The world agrees that so-called developing to 2nd world countries are demoralized regarding the business of economics, political/power educational availability and health related issues. It has been agreed for decades by most western analyst that the cycle of production (GNP) must increase resulting in greater individual wealth and spending power locally to globally. This includes local product producers, growers or content owners gross production increase or output. Local factory systems in developing or southern countries are able to produce at equal rates for less expensive prices at markets in the west creating a profit margin for controllers in the west resulting in healthy banking and insurance industries to fund future enterprise in the west. There is a cultural consensus or 'Privilege' amongst the west, formal or informal, spoken or unspoken 'language', media based or literary, that 'they', the west themselves must control, harvest, contract, transport, machine, factor, process or generally maintain global industry and markets. This sense of dominance that extends to the market has existed for 500 years. This spirit of capitulation has been termed, the Cristol Colon (Christopher Columbus's real name) Archetype and HAS BEEN the dominating character trait for western 'Captains of Industry' for 500 years. Currently technocrats are engaged in the Crystallizing or Democratization of International Markets to aid European or western financing. While the western culture has enacted self privilege to their own benefit for over 500 years starting with several agreements such as the Inter Curses Magnus in the late 1400’s.

How this archetype may be eradicated and if its possible to become eradicated is the current barrier. European or western controlled monopolies or monetary, political and education dominant cultures continue to control prices, demand, supplies and inevitable goods to market ratios. Because this affects the developing countries inevitable ability to earn profit and spend in its own market we have a growing rate of proxy based collusion. Most banks, insurances and general equity are controlled by European or western influenced entities and system frameworks. Which grossly skew the market and earning potential of several developing enterprises and countries. Colon-ized characters have lead the world to the brink of destruction environmentally with the raiding of resources and industrialization. Market democratization or crystallization of economic and political power now only regards, "Who sets the price?" This price fixing is done for the betterment of European or western cultures and collusion based cultures at the expense of developing countries or enterprises infrastructure of moral and ethical fabric.

Developing to '2nd World' countries current role has not changed as to "Who supplies the production cycle (whether slave or sweatshop)." These 2 roles are ultimately controlled by the Win/Lose business cycle, as power through politics and economics must be exhibited on the local level in a moral and ethical manner (no collusion) to gain greater equity at the international bargaining level for product placement. Which in the nature of true capitalism will drive the price of goods and services down to a sustainable level. In theory, increasing the quality of goods and services as the only criterion for market share.

“Power is no less "political" for being labeled "economic" power; for politics is but the science of "who gets what, when, and how." (2)

The U. N. Human Development Report of 1997 is a 159 page report. Starting with the statement on page 19, "Globalization offers great opportunities-but only if it is managed more carefully and with more concern for global equity." We begin to see a perception based report that offers some possible methods to insure greater inclusion of developing countries in global economies. How this differs from the previous 501 years of how Europe so-called developed ‘Southern’ countries and their roles in international or western based markets at the exclusion of their own local market is becoming extremely relevant 20 years later, since the report was released.

Cut to the chase, the culture of dominance and control has not been stemmed. To eradicate poverty one must concentrate on the culture that endorses exploitation / exploration of 'Other' cultures in order to gain profit by any means necessary. I call this the Columbus trope, as preceding Cristobal Colon-ized enterprise, we have witnessed a cultural model based on his somewhat hypebol literary exploits. Which initiated a European shift or copy cat mentality of 'Big Cats' or 'Captains of Industry' whom proverbially roam the open seas (markets) in order to capture new or existing opportunities with hope of royalty, payment and prestige for his or her lineage, now pervading white male privilege. Due to its origin and  white male participation or dominated character trope or archetype, build on several key issues that are problematic to 'indigenous' or 'other' cultures' encountered by such 'Captains' of industry, we now face several colonial (based on Mr. Colons exploits) systems, models or mentalities of all races, nations or creeds, which currently resemble upstart independent autonomous republics (companies) such as Mr. Colons own Geneo or Venice.

These Maritime aristocratic republics, competed for military and commercial dominance much like corporations now do. Their 'Colombian Exchange' is a profit based, exclusive European controlled trade (see guild) or current exploration / enlightenment (poverty eradication for Europe only) in order to capture new markets, predominantly 'Southern' based. Nothing has changed in this approach since the start of the modern slave trade. Which included 500 years of looting, pillaging for natural resources and minerals and the inevitable destruction and forced labor of many of the worlds citizens. This 'War' like mentality is induced for market dominance and what ever incursions may result after.

Mysticism » Islamic Philosophy

Introducing Shukr's, How we understand Lata'if or Chakras.

According to Islamic Metaphysics or Sufism, the seven Chakras or Lata'if are each associated with a Color and a Prophet.

The base chakra at the base of the spine ('sacrum') or tailbone/coccyx is associated with the color black of the 'Materia Prima' and is associated with Adam, the first of the Divine Prophets, upon him be peace, who was fashioned from black clay or mud (carbon essence).

The navel chakra is associated with the blue of water and the emotions and is associated with Divine Messenger Nuh, upon him be peace.

The chakra at the solar plexus is associated with yellow and the Prophet Dawud upon him be peace. It is where the spirit enters. The Prophet Dawud was renowned for receiving Divine Inspiration which caused him to sing the Psalms or Zabur.

The heart chakra is associated with the color red and the Prophet Ibrahim, upon him be peace. The expansive heart chakra experiences Divine Love, Peace & Tranquillity.

The throat chakra is associated with "Black Light" and the Divine Messenger & Messiah Isa or Jesus, upon him be peace, who represents the Divine Word or "logos" and the power of speech.

The 3rd eye or pineal gland chakra is associated with "White Light" and the Divine Messenger Musa or Moses, upon him be peace, who saw the Light of Allah, represented by the burning bush.

The crown chakra is the mountain of emeralds, associated with the color green and the Seal of Divine Messengers and Prophets, Sayyidina Muhammad (saws). The crown chakra is where our personal soul (nafs) and spirit (ruh) unite. It is where the transcendent spiritual realm unites with the physical. Green represents this juncture or place of transition and Sayyidina Muhammad (may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) leads the way to the summit of Divine Being, as he is the completion and seal of all the Prophets.
